firm affiliated with global legal networks and serving both public and private sector entities, Mr. Imam has worked across constitutional, corporate, regulatory, energy, and criminal matters. Yet, it is through his courtroom and corporate experience that he became acutely aware of one of Pakistan’s greatest challenges: an overburdened judiciary, drowning in millions of pending cases. Many of these disputes, he observed, could be resolved more swiftly, cost-effectively, and amicably through ADR. This realization ignited his lifelong mission to integrate ADR into the very fabric of Pakistan’s justice system.
To fulfill this vision, he founded the Juwayni& Hawkins Centre for Dispute Resolution (J&H CDR), a pioneering institute dedicated to institutionalizing mediation and arbitration in Pakistan. Under his leadership, the Centre is not only providing dispute resolution services but is also committed to capacity-building, training programs, and public awareness campaigns. With a special focus on empowering youth and involving women in ADR, Mr. Imam envisions creating a robust network of trained peacemakers who can resolve conflicts outside courtrooms, thus reducing the judicial backlog and restoring faith in the justice system.
His mission is clear: to make justice quicker, cheaper, and more humane by promoting ADR as a mainstream mechanism. By building bridges between traditional courts and alternative systems, Mr. Imam seeks to transform ADR from a mere concept into a practical solution that delivers peace, fairness, and relief to those who have been denied timely justice for far too long.
